Decorative privacy film and security film
Decorative privacy film is available without a security-film package. We quote the selected finish and coverage for your rooms, partitions or buildings.
Where forced-entry resistance is also required, we assess a suitable security-film specification separately. Standard decorative frosting is not a substitute for security film.

White Frost and Dusted Crystal have different light transmission and appearance. Light transmission alone does not establish privacy; review a physical sample under your room’s lighting.

Manufacturer nominal figures for film applied to 3 mm glass. White Frost and Dusted Crystal do not have the same UV rejection. Neither standard decorative product should be specified as security film.

White Frost, Dusted Crystal and privacy coverage
Choose the finish and the area of glass to cover separately. Light transmission is measurable; the required visual privacy must be checked using samples, viewing positions and actual room lighting.
XPEL White Frost
A frosted finish for glass partitions, meeting rooms and storefront areas where direct views need to be obscured. Review a sample from both sides of the glass before confirming the required privacy.
XPEL Dusted Crystal
A light frosted finish with higher visible light transmission than White Frost in XPEL’s published comparison. Consider it where a lighter decorative finish is preferred; higher transmission does not establish an equivalent level of privacy.
Full-pane frosting
Covers the selected pane to obscure views across its treated area. Check glass doors, adjacent panes and any uncovered sections as part of the room layout. Silhouettes can remain visible depending on lighting and distance.
Privacy bands and partial coverage
Define the coverage height and width for seated or standing sightlines. The uncovered glass remains transparent, so a band that screens a seated meeting may leave standing occupants or displays visible.
For confidential rooms, assess the actual sightlines and lighting before approving film. Assess the partition and door assembly separately where acoustic privacy is required. For an outward view with daytime screening, compare solar-film options; reflective film is not reliable night-time privacy.

Glass compatibility, installation scope and warranty
Glass and installation checks
We identify the glass type, existing coatings, pane dimensions and condition before selecting film. Low-E, laminated and insulating glass require a product-specific compatibility check.
We also review sun exposure, shading, existing film, installation access and any partial-coverage proposal against XPEL’s requirements. Film is not a repair for damaged glass or failed seals.
What the quotation should identify
The film name and product code, finish, glazing areas, coverage layout, preparation or removal work, access requirements and installation phases. Provide your required completion date and any landlord or construction restrictions.
We confirm product availability, estimated installation duration, care instructions and applicable warranty terms before the work is booked.
Commercial warranty for White Frost and Dusted Crystal
XPEL lists a five-year limited commercial film warranty for White Frost and Dusted Crystal. Decorative-film coverage does not include glass breakage or seal failure. The manufacturer’s eligibility, installation and care requirements apply.
Decorative-film warranty coverage does not establish forced-entry resistance. If security is also required, the quotation must identify a suitable security-film specification separately.

Review the areas requiring film, glass type and condition, sun exposure, privacy requirements and access. Measure the glazing and check film compatibility.

Confirm the product and scope
Review film samples and specifications. The quote identifies the selected film, coverage, installation scope and applicable warranty, with proposed timing.
- 03 / Installation
Prepare and apply the film
Prepare the glass, apply the specified film and inspect the installation. Provide cleaning, curing and care instructions, along with the applicable product documentation.
Scheduling: Installation dates and estimated duration depend on film availability, glazing area, access equipment and building restrictions. Tell us your required completion date; we confirm the schedule before booking the work.

Q.01How do White Frost and Dusted Crystal differ?
White Frost has a frosted finish; Dusted Crystal has a light frosted finish. XPEL lists 65% and 86% visible light transmission respectively on 3 mm glass. Assess samples for the visual privacy required in your room.
Q.02Can privacy film be installed without security film?
Yes. We quote and install decorative privacy film as a standalone commercial service.
Q.03Does frosted film let light through?
Translucent frosting allows light through while obscuring direct views. Transmission and privacy vary by finish. Silhouettes may remain visible depending on lighting and distance from the glass.
Q.04Can film cover only part of a glass partition?
Yes. We can specify privacy bands or partial coverage at an agreed height and width, leaving the remaining glass clear. The layout is confirmed before installation.
Q.05Is decorative privacy film a security product?
Standard decorative frosting is specified for appearance and visual privacy. If forced-entry resistance is required, we assess a suitable security-film product separately.
